I'll call this latest work Mary... for obvious reasons! I was very reluctant to post this picture, although I spent a lot of time painting this. (not from life) I was very pleased with it initially but when i took some pictures of it I felt it didn't do it justice. This is my mobile... Continue Reading →
Self Portrait March 2017
Self Portrait - March 2017 I submitted this self portrait for the Sky Arts competition. Alas it was rejected... but apart from this I enjoyed painting it! I learn't a great deal from the process! It lacks emotion and is sterile in it's delivery but sometimes you learn from trying to impress. i.e. you try too hard!
Karl the Bodybuilder
I really enjoyed this Mondays life class. We had a body builder pose for us this week. Perhaps would have been better to concentrate on Karl's physique as it is very similar to mine 🙂 But I just love doing portraits (this week with a little help from Maurice - What a great painter and... Rachel life model class
Rachael modeled for us a few weeks ago and seeing as i have not posted for a while, (naughty boy) I thought i'd share it with the world. Rachael has amazing dreadlocks which she tied in a bun and layered on top of her head. Its a shame I ran out of time with this... Continue Reading →

A night at the ballet
A Degas inspired painting of ballerinas! Another attempt at producing something more commercial. It's more of an illustration and not very painterly. Hey Ho! Lets see what kind of reaction it gets!
MYSTERIOUS LADY IN BLUE DRESS
This was my attempt to produce some more commercially biased work. One person commented on the fact that it was like a Jack Vettriano. (not sure about that) If it brings me some of his fortune, I wouldn't say no. Painting created after this little charcoal study. Finally, Many thanks to all those who attended... Continue Reading →

My attempt at knife painting
My most recent work is a move away from my normal style. I decided to try something different and attempt some knife painting. I wanted to create an image that hopefully was more expressive and emotive. I think the painting speaks for itself. It looks like I'm entering my 'dark period' but next week I hope to move... Nude in front of studio window
Ive not blogged for a few weeks, so thought this might be a good opportunity to showcase my latest nude painting of Beatrice. My last couple of paintings have not been so inspiring for me which is why I haven't displayed them but this I enjoyed. My next project will be painting with a knife. I... Continue Reading →
