This piece was deeply inspired by a tutorial from Paul Foxton on YouTube.
Paul is a brilliant still-life artist and educator who shares weekly lessons with his community. If you’re looking to master realistic painting with a subtle abstract edge, I can’t recommend him enough.
His approach focuses heavily on mastering Value and Chroma, while offering expert guidance on capturing form and edges.
This was my 4 hour attempt. A little bit of flare on my image. But I think you get the impression.
