I have not posted for some time due to my computer malfunctioning and my teaching obligations. However, I am pleased to report that everything is now operational again. This situation has also provided me with the opportunity to reconsider certain aspects of my paintings and the subjects I choose. It has largely involved returning to fundamental principles and utilizing some excellent resources. I am focusing on less detail but being more thoughtful regarding value, colour, and edge handling. Consequently, I have chosen to focus on still life studies, which are proving to be enjoyable and relatively quick to create. By spending less time on these smaller works, I am able to reduce my pricing, which I hope will be advantageous given the current economic climate. This has been an exceptionally challenging time for many artists, most of whom are struggling to make sales. Therefore, I am optimistic that in the upcoming months, these paintings will begin to find buyers. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on these works.
So today’s image is of a lovely Delph jug that I acquired from a charity shop.
