A balmy summers evening

I thought I’d take a break from painting my cityscape scences of Manchester and try something different. I was looking through my archives of photos and found a lovely photo of my bedroom bathed in warm late summer sunshine.
The lady is a figment of my imagination, as the image needed a focal point I’ve introduced her into the painting to add to the atmosphere.
This is a study for a larger painting so hopefully I’ve worked out my mistakes.
I’m really not sure about this painting… but I thought I’d include anyway as I think it taps into the summer, atmospheric, balmy early evening vibe.
My phones interpretation does not really do this painting justice. It’ll be interesting to see what people think?
