There are places I’ll remember…

Alderney edge train stationThe title: There are places I’ll remember…
refers to a very beautiful Beatles song – In My Life. The words are so poignant nostalgic and heartfelt that it got me thinking of places that I love and have been a part of My Life.
Rural train stations I have noticed don’t seem to change that much… they are quintessentially English and very beautiful. It’s almost like going back in time. So memories of past loves or rushing to catch the last train home come racing back when I think of my early and informed years. I’m sure we all have a station where we stole a kiss from someone we fancied or did something that now makes us smile from our innocent youth.
I’d like to explore these places more.

Oh the station? Alderley Edge

There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I’ve loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
